Description: ASA in Florence is an intensive interdisciplinary program focusing on the arts and the humanities. As an ASA student in Florence you will study at our centrally located school in the Piazza della Repubblica and live with Italian families in the historic city center. You will share double rooms with another ASA student in spacious, comfortable apartments and gain an intimate knowledge of Florence’s history and culture. From the street vendors gathering on the Ponte Vecchio to the wonders of art in the Ufizzi, and the hills of Chianti across the river, Florence is a wonderful place to live and study and you will quickly feel at home in this intimate and charming city. The program combines the benefits of a pre-college program curriculum with the real life cultural contact provided by living with a Florentine family. This unique combination gives students the opportunity to grow personally and intellectually while experiencing Italian culture first hand, both in and outside the classroom. Students also enjoy daily activities, guided tours, sports and excursions on the weekends. No knowledge of Italian is required to participate in the program. |
