Drawing campers from Europe, Asia, Mexico, USA, Canada and South America, Tamwood's camps provide an opportunity to learn about foreign peoples and cultures and to meet and make friends with young people from around the world. Whistler, host venue for the 2010 winter Olympics, is a great place to spend the summer vacation. Whistler is located only two hours from Vancouver and is a popular summer and winter vacation resort, famous for its natural beauty. With access by gondola to high alpine areas, four fresh water lakes, over 25 kilometres of paved bicycle and walking trails, three golf courses and numerous nature hikes, mountain bike trails, and modern medical services, Whistler is one of North America’s prettiest and most exciting places for a summer camp, and also one of the safest. Tamwood offers a camp for juniors, ages 7-12 and for teens, ages 13-17, in Whistler. Tamwood's Teen Camp in Whistler is open to Canadian, American and international campers ages 13-17. Teen campers register for one of the following camp programs each week: Adventure Camp, Tennis Camp, Golf Camp, Learn to Snowboard Camp and English and Activity Camp. The tennis and golf camps include instruction by professional coaches at Whistler's top training tennis and golf clubs. The snowboarding camp gives campers the chance to learn to snowboard on the popular Blackcomb Mountain glacier. Tamwood's Junior Camp in Whistler is open to international campers and features English classes and exciting activities and excursions. In both Vancouver and London, Tamwood offers English and activity summer camps for international campers ages 7-12 and 13-18. In Vancouver, the camp runs on the beautiful campus of Simon Fraser University. All campers take 15 hours per week of English classes combined with sports lessons, adventure and cultural activities and sightseeing excursions. London, Ontario, is located just 1 hour and 40 minutes from the Toronto Pearson International Airport. Tamwood runs its camp in London on the campus of Huron University (part of U.W.O.). Juniors and Teens are separated into different camps and enjoy a combination of English classes, sports, adventure and cultural activities and sightseeing excrusions. In certain weeks campers can choose to specialized in one activity and attend classes in that activity for 3 hours per day, 4 days per week. The options for specialized activities include: tennis, golf, horse riding and soccer. These specialized sports programs are top by professional coaches at off site training facilities.
